WELCOME HOME, CATHERINE SCOTT or THE GIRL•FRIEND PLAY by A.A. Brenner

In a series of workshops, we're working to develop this new play by A.A. Brenner.

Five years after falling in love for the first time, transmasculine filmmaker Cal returns to the scene of the crime: Ithaca, New York, where they also graduated from college. It’s Homecoming weekend, and Cal has invited the cerebral, ethereal actress Catherine back for one last hurrah—and, Cal hopes, to finally act on their intense mutual connection. But loose ends abound in Ithaca—from not-quite exes to unspoken attractions to friends—and Cal must sort them all out in the mere 36 hours in the place they used to call home. Welcome Home, Catherine Scott...or, the girl•friend play explores the complexities of modern romance, the intricacies of queer relationships, and the lasting intensity of first love.
